Kiyone
| Kiyone is Mihoshi's poor partner in the Galaxy Police Force, as told in the bangaihen ( Mihoshi Side Story ), where Kiyone made her first appearence. Since then, she became popular, and found a strong role in the two Tenchi movies and the two Tenchi TV series. The second Tenchi TV series, known as Shin Tenchi Muyo (or Tenchi in Tokyo), will be release by in the US by the Poineer next year (hopefully). Not much is known about Kiyone's origins or background. What is known is that she is very competent in her work. Kiyone is an intelligent police officer, and unliked Mihoshi -- sensible, logical, responsible, serious, and mentally stable. She is an image of the perfect Galaxy Police Detective First Class. However, she usually gets stuck cleaning up after her not so gifted partner (few times in the TV series). In the movie Tenchi Muyo! in Love she gets stuck being a custodian while Mihoshi gets to teach... and Washu has a knack for pulling Kiyone back from time at the worst moments and sending her back in times just as bad! Kiyone has the unfortunate luck to be partnered with Mihoshi. Kiyone dreams of becoming one of the best detectives in the Galaxy Police force, but her partner "anchors" her from being the best. Worse yet, Kiyone, more or less, has to baby sit her partner. Kiyone is always concentrating on her work. There is rarely a time where she does something that is not related to the Galaxy Police. She is diligent as ever. Needless to say, Kiyone is your typical Sherlock Holmes: Scrutinizes evidence, calculating needed plans, calm in the heat of battle, and have no room for blunders. She is one of the more mature persons in the Masaki family. She despises the fact that she has to be partnered with Mihoshi. Whatever Kiyone do, Mihoshi will indirectly undo. However, she does care for her partner eventhough her caring emotions for Mihoshi are rarely seen. Unlike other Masaki family members who possess non-humanly powers, she only relies on her intelligence and diligence to solve a case or problem. She does rely on her laser pistol and control cube, but unlike Mihoshi who is clueless with her control cube, Kiyone does know how to utilize it. Isn't she cool? ^_^ She is one of the clam and intelligent person in the Masaki family, besides Washuu and Yosho. I like to think of her more or less the parent, besides Yosho and Nobuyoki. For example, while Mihoshi is having her snack when there are better business to attend to, Kiyone usually try to locate Mihoshi as if she was lost or out playing with friends. Her relationship with the others are serene because she understands their personalities. She cares deeply for Tenchi, but does not love him in the way Ryoko and Ayeka does. Therefore, she gets along with them perfectly. Kiyone's voice actor for the Japanese TV is Amano Yuri, and for the English dub is Sherry Lynn.
