Sakuya Kumashiro is your
average 17 year old student. Her first memories
were walking down the streets of Tokyo then seeing Tenchi, whom she fell in
love with straight away.
She is the first girl who has ever won Tenchi's heart, and things don't go
very smoothly when Ayeka and Ryoko hear about that!
She attends a college in Tokyo. She is one of the most popular girls in her
school. She is very beautiful and has a great figure, but she is also very
clever. Sakuya is very good at sports as she works out to get fitter.
But behind the cute bubbly 17 year old, there is a dark secret that even she
doesn't know.
An evil woman named Yugi created her. Sakuya is just a shadow (incarnation)
of Yugi. They are the same person, though they act and look different.
Sakuya has a pair of sparkling emerlad eyes, full of life. She has dark
black hair and a smile who can catch the attention on anyone. Her skin is
almost white in colour.
Yugi, however, resambles that of a child. Even though she is around
thirty-five thousand years old, she looks around the age of a six year old.
A long time ago (about 35,000 years) she was trapped and sealed away by
Jurain preiests and sent to Earth. She remained trapped beneath Tokyo until
a earthquake released her. .
She made Sakuya as she wants the crystals that Tenchi and the girls own.
But, however, she cannot do that by stealing them directly. She needs to
weaken the crystal's power. So she sends Sakuya to break the bond between
Tenchi and the girls.
In ep24 he founds out that she is only a shadow. His feelings show and he
runs to find her at her flat to talk to her about it calmly. But he got
there too late, as he was confronted with Yugi who had already re-captured
Sakuya. After Yugi disappears, he replays the message on his answering
machine which tore him apart:
"Tenchi. I had a wonderful day today, thank you. I have decided that I will
not dwell on my missing memory of the past any longer, because I understand
now that everything I had with you will always be mine, and I know I will be
creating many more new ones with you...
It's funny, but sometimes I feel the only reason I exist in this world is to
love you. I love you even more now, Tenchi. I am very happy, but the time is
up for us.
Although I don't want it to end, I understand now... no matter how beautiful
it seems, or how happy we are... it's all just an illusion. Humans can't
live in dreams. Tenchi, there are things you must do, people to protect, and
places to go back to. It doesn't matter for me anymore, because every
minute, every second of memories I made with you will always be mine...
...and I will keep all these memories locked up, here in my heart, forever."
He runs to Yugis cave to stop her evil ways, telling himself that even
though Sakuya was a shadow, she was so real that it didn't matter anymore.
But he gets into a dream world where he is with Sakuya. He tells her how
much he loves her and Sakuya embraces and kisses him. But he awakes from the
dream, and Sakuya is gone forever..........
