Yosho
| In a strange twist of events, it turns out that Yosho is in fact Tenchi's grandfather ( We find this out when Kagato comes down and tries to steal Tenchi-Ken ) , he is also the father of Achika. Yosho lives in the Masaki Shrine where Tenchi visits every summer. He also sword trains Tenchi. He appears in all the Tenchi Muyo! series. When Tenchi was at the temple with his grandfather, he was told of his mighty ancestor Yosho. Yosho had come to the earth in a mighty steel ship ( Depicted as a dragon in Tenchi's mind ) and battled the horrible demon aka Ryoko. All of this happened 700 years ago, and there was a legend that he had left his sword in the cave where Tenchi used to play as a child. Yosho is the first crown prince of Jurai. 700 years ago, he was engaged to Ayeka, his half-sister, before he left Jurai in pursuit of the space pirate, Ryoko (very strange to me that Yosho was Ayeka's and Sasami's half brother, but also Ayeka's fiance). Their marriage was prearranged by their parents when Ayeka was a child. Still, Ayeka was happy with the arrangement and was looking forward to become Yosho's wife. Ayeka and Yosho was to wed when Ayeka was to become of age, but before their wedding, Yosho left Jurai in pursuit of Ryoko (it is not uncommon for siblings to wed each other on Jurai). Ryoko and Yosho battle through the galaxies until finally reaching planet Earth where Yosho defeated Ryoko and imprisoned her in the cave by taking away her Power Gems. Later Yosho decided not to return to Jurai for personal reasons, so he built the Masaki shrine in close proximity of the cave. The reason he did not return to Jurai and wed Ayeka is because there were some Juraians who opposed a half Juraian and half homosapien taking heir of the throne. His mother is the first queen of Jurai, Funaho, is an Earthling. Therefore, he stayed on Earth and married Tenchi's grandmother, who was also a homosapien. Though Yosho looks like a grandpa, his actual appearance is a twenty-something young man. He keeps this grandpa appearance to hopefully dissuade Ayeka from marrying him and to not cause suspicions while on Earth as to why he is not aging. In the TV series, Yosho has aged ( On Jurai he would not have ) because on Earth there is no "Water of Life" which Juraians rely on for their longevity. This water is also the reason that Ayeka and Sasami are still young ! He only reveals his true voice and appearance when his mother, Funaho, visits him on Earth. No other person has seen his actual appearance since his arrival on Earth. Yosho is the *true* owner and master of the Tenchiken, an energy sword. His martial arts skills and use of the Tenchiken is impeccable when demonstrated on Kagato. He can also generate the Light Hawk Wings, albeit, only one Light Hawk Wing, but he makes up for the lack of Light Hawk Wings by utilizing his martial arts effectively. IMHO, he can whip Kagato's butt any day. ^_- He rarely interacts with the Masaki family, but he is not an old grump. In fact, he has a great sense of humor. He spends his time reading scriptures, books, and training Tenchi. Also, he rarely interferes with the Masaki family's problems, unless it is very serious like the arrival of Kagato.
